At College Success Plan, our highly trained mentors support student academic success through guidance and support every step of the way. Students want to be ready for, and in control of everything when beginning college freshman year. College Success Plan has a four-part summer program designed specifically to prepare and plan for those important first few weeks. And, if you are taking an online summer course for college credit, our mentors can work with you to support your academic and organizational skills through the duration of the class.
Goals of the Program:
Ease the transition to college
Make students aware of college expectations
Show students how to be organized and responsible
Set up successful management systems that last a lifetime
The Summer Workshop is held Monday - Thursday. Ninety minute morning and evening sessions will be offered on the following dates:
June 14 - 17 (10:30am - 12pm CST)
June 21 - 24 (5:30pm - 7:00pm CST)
July 12 - 15 (10:30am - 12pm CST)
July 19 - 22 (1:00pm - 2:30pm CST

Pre- and post-orientation to review modules and registration documents
Organize college planning system: computer files, Google calendar, paper system, planner management
Review of university clubs and activities to join. Create a list of interests
Review university Learning Management Systems (Canvas, D2L, Blackboard) to ensure full understanding
Manage, arrange and understand accommodations, if needed. Ensure document submission
Control what you can control and be completely prepared for the first day
Learn about all on campus resources: writing center, tutoring, library services
Learn efficient study skills and test prep strategies
Goal setting for summer and fall semester with comprehensive checklist
